50 Son 50 – Tambores De Bejucal

£14.00

If I was to say this is the best album of Conga and

Mozambique I’ve heard, it would give you no true idea how good this is. I have two albums of Pello El Afrokan from the era of Mozambique, they are so beaten up as to do little justice to the music. Various artists- Cachao stands out- have recorded congas, Eddie Palmieri had his slightly wrong version of Mozambique, but I’ve just never found entire albums of Cuban carnival music.
In celebration of their 50 years and in its full, well recorded Bacchanalian glory here is one such from Tambores De Bejucal. They are a professional conga group from the small sugar town of Bejucal, just south of La Habana. This is special, enjoy!
